What is IVF?

The struggle is real. There are thousands of women all over the world who are suffering from the woes of infertility and in most cases they feel dejected, hopeless and lose faith. However, with technological advancements in the Assisted Reproduction space, couples who have been longing to fill their lives with the joys of a beautiful child, can finally find happiness.

You will be diagnosed with infertility if you are unable to get pregnant after a year of trying. In case you are able to get pregnant, but keep having miscarriages or stillbirths, that too is defined as infertility. Infertility has become very common, however with the treatment options available today, in some cases simple medication or a surgical procedure could reverse the condition and you could conceive spontaneously without the assistance of any more medical intervention.

However for some couples InVitro Fertilization (IVF) is the best solution to achieve a positive pregnancy. The process involves fertilization of the egg and the sperm in a laboratory instead of the fallopian tube of a woman. Initially the solution was used to overcome challenges that came from blocked or damaged tubes or absent tubes due to surgery, where fertilization was not possible due to hinderance between egg and sperm. However, today, IVF is commonly used to treat and overcome other infertility conditions such as sperm problems, endometriosis and unexplained infertility as well.
